• Today you'll learn about TRADE!  A huge theme of AP World History is trade and how it impacts people and places.  In order to understand it after 1200 we first need to look at how it starts and what some of the main trading routes existed before 1200.

3. Again, in your notebook take a look at this document (it's for the activity we didn't get to do :( ...oh well, we'll have some fun this year!) and answer the following questions in your notebook.  Make sure to label it TRADE SIMULATION CONCLUSIONS
1. After reading the directions, what two (2) things can you infer about trade in the period before 1200CE?   
4. Watch this Crash Course Video (should work at school, if not complete at home for homework!) and answer the following questions IN YOUR NOTEBOOK:
1. What was the Silk Road? What makes describing the Silk Road so difficult?
2. Where did silk originate? How was it made? What were its early uses? Why was silk such a desired good for trade and exchange?
3. Why was trade along the Silk Road an advantage to nomadic peoples? 
4. Why did the cities founded by peoples along the Silk Road become hugely important?
5. Identify and briefly describe the three ways the Silk Road impacted the lives of all people during its existence (not just the wealthy)? 

HOMEWORK 

• Finish anything you didn't get to in class.  If you get it all done (and done well) have a great restful weekend!  We jump into assessed AP content on MONDAY!
